Welcome! This page is in the works, and indeed may take quite some time to finish properly as the biographies of each band member are quite extensive , and the biography of The Strange Woods band by itself is also quite long and involved. In point of fact there are actually no really current versions of a biography for The Strange Woods Band itself. Once the Woods retired from playing pub gigs 2-3 times a week, each member was able to take the time to pursue solo and duo musical pursuits and recordings, while the four-piece band remained available for gigs and special performances only.

The history of these musical performers begins with Jim Hinton, Theresa Rochelle and Patrick Espinoza who have played together for many years, in different band combinations. Probably the best known of these was called The Paradise Street Band (a band their fourth and newest member, Rachel Amov, became a big fan of in the 80's when she first heard them play on the cassette entitled Summer Seas and Golden Dreams).

It wasn't until the early 90's (more or less), that Rachel joined Jim and Theresa on stage as a sometime member of their group, at this point called The Strange Woods. This band would later include their daughter Vanessa, and then Patrick came back to the fold as Vanessa went off into the business world, until the Strange Woods gelled for a number of years as Jim, Theresa, Patrick and Rachel. So many details are of course missing here (for now) given all the individual pursuits of each band member, and the collaborative nature of these fine musicians, it takes some time to talk to each and make certain to not only write it how it happened, but to verify all the details and make sure it is all correct!

We will do our best to create a more extensive page here as time goes on, but in the meanwhile, you can find details about Jim on his website, and details on Theresa and Rachel on their website, and as for Patrick, we'll either talk him into creating his own website one day, or you will always be able to find updates here as we are able to maket them!
